Tohaali Community School prepares kindergarten through eighth-grade students to achieve independence, responsibility and wellness in a changing world. Our caring learning environment respects diversity and embraces cultural values. We introduce elementary students to classroom learning and prepare them for high school, college and beyond.

Our greater community, including school board members, staff and parents/guardians, believes all of our students can reach personal greatness and academic excellence. They each possess unique gifts, talents, and challenges and are prepared for success by fostering the “Sih hwiin Dzin” (self-worth within each child).

TCS’s educational program enhances the learning potential of all students, enabling them to achieve grade-level benchmarks. Within our safe, supportive and positive learning environment, we provide academic, physical, social, emotional and spiritual education to ensure students reach their full potential.

By collaborating with students, parents/guardians and community members, we provide experiences that allow students to build confidence and pride in their culture, community and themselves. Each student is instructed according to their abilities and nurtured by our school community to promote their well-being.

Tohaali Community School is a reflection of our larger Navajo Community. Our curriculum is designed to create critical thinkers, problem solvers, and self-directed learners with strong parent and community involvement. Students learn to appreciate the natural environment while participating in extracurricular activities that develop cooperation and leadership skills.

We provide diverse volunteer opportunities and educational resources for parents/guardians to be actively involved and in partnership with their student’s educational plans. All students and parents/guardians can expect adequate supplies and materials to support a quality education.
